INSSWA prides itself on the many benefits it offers to members.

Professional Development

Members receive multiple discounted and free professional development opportunities throughout the year including: a Fall Conference, Spring Seminar, Summer Session, and regional meetings and trainings that occur across the state throughout the entire year.

Mini-Grants & Scholarships

Members have the opportunity to apply for mini-grants and scholarships. Mini-Grants are available for members to help fund curriculums and programs for utilization within their schools. Scholarship opportunities are available for members to attend regional and national School Social Work conferences.

Legislative Committee

INSSWA has a legislative committee that works to stay up to date on relevant legislative issues in order to help us stay informed on a state and national level. The committee provides us with the knowledge we need to advocate on behalf of our profession and the students we serve.

SSW of the Year

Each year INSSWA selects a School Social Worker of the Year from a pool of nominees, to honor someone who exemplifies what it means to be a School Social Worker.

Private Facebook Group

Connect with other members through our private Facebook group. This allows members the opportunity to ask questions, obtain information, and share resources and ideas with other members throughout the state.

Member Emails

All members are added to our INSSWA listserv. We send out occasional emails to ensure you have the news you need regarding job postings, legislative updates, professional development opportunities, conferences, training events and other important membership news.

SSWAA Affiliate Member Rate

The School Social Worker Association of America (SSWAA) provides INSSWA members with a discount affiliate state membership rate. The benefits of becoming a member of SSWAA are: liability insurance, publication discounts, reduced conference registration rates, electronic newsletter: the E-Bell, and two National Lobbyists for School Social Work.

Membership Types

Membership consists of four categories:

Regular
Charter
Retired
Affiliate

Regular, Charter and Retired members are able to have voting rights, hold elective office, hold board positions, have the opportunity to apply for and receive grants and scholarships, receive communications from the association, reduced conference rates, and the opportunity to join the private Facebook group.

Affiliate members receive communications from the association, reduced conference rates and the opportunity to join the private Facebook group.
